Pima Indians: River People (Akimel O'Odham) and Desert People (Tohono O'Odham). Their ancestors, the Hohokam built the network of irrigation canals the Pima used for farming. A peaceful people, the Pima farmed corn, squash, beans, cotton, and wheat (after the Spanish introduced it). The dome-shaped huts built of poles, brush, and mud are quickly recognizable.
