There's no doubt that today's movies and films are stupendous – what with the availability of such high-tech marvels as blue screen, and CGI. No more fishing line 'suspension systems' for attacking pterodactyls and space ships, and no more gluing pieces on common backyard lizards to create 'gigantic' prehistoric monsters. Now is the age of The Matrix, and Star Wars III. But the movies of old offer some fantastic entertainment opportunities. There are, of course, classics such as The Birds, Indiana Jones and the Lost Ark, Airplane, Animal House, and Lawrence of Arabia. But there are many more awesome flicks to consider for an afternoon or evening's entertainment such as Big Trouble in Little China, Kelly's Heroes, Omen, and Bladerunner. The movies reviewed here will be those which were made at least ten years ago, often much longer. Not every movie review is the same because each movie review is done by someone who perceives the movie or film differently than someone else. This is why most people have their 'favorite' reviewers. The movie reviews contained herein are written by a long time movie buff – one who is tough on the trash. In fact, there's even a category called "Save your money and time" that lists the worst of the worst – even though some of them did okay at the box office.
