The Sonora Desert region, also called the "Sonoran" Desert region has some of the most sought after hiking areas in the United States - and Tucson is smack dead in it. Miles of established hiking trails at all difficulty levels, and an endless number of choices for trailblazers are within a short distance of Tucson. If you're an inexperienced hiker, be sure to pick hikes that are within your skill level. And no matter what your hiking skill level, or where you choose to hike in and around Tucson, always remember, when you are hiking the Tucson Arizona regions, take along and drink plenty of water, and use an appropriate sunscreen!
