The Big Show

It's known by many names, including Tucson Gem Show; Tucson Gem & Jewelry Show; Tucson Gem, Mineral & Fossil Show; Tucson Gem, Mineral & Fossil Showcase; and Tucson Gem Show. But no matter what you call it, it's the Big Show in Tucson, Arizona.

Every January and February Tucson plays host to tens of thousands of visitors. The common bond of the welcome guests is that they are all interested in gems and jewelry. And Tucson puts on the largest show of its kind in the world.

During the two week event, the Metro Tucson Convention & Visitors Bureau acts as a hub, but the show extends far out into the community. Over thirty Tucson businesses including resorts, shops, and hotels host a plethora of dealers in minerals, jewelry, beads, fossils, precious gems, and jewelry-making machinery, tools, and materials. Most of the shows put on by dealers are free, and open to the public. Some dealers will only sell to the trades.

This is Tucson's largest annual event. Not only does it attract the greatest number of visitors from all around the world, but the vast area of the city it encompasses by far makes it the largest in that respect as well. Tucson businesses eagerly participate in the show, which has contributed to its growth. All of these satellite shows and displays have also created some great shopping and viewing opportunities for Tucsonans and tourists alike.

To find out more about this exciting event and its various locations this year, contact the Metro Tucson Convention & Visitors Bureau.
