Tucson Arizona – The Hottest Destination!
For Golf, Hiking, Entertainment, Resorts, Biking, Spas,
Vacations, Events, and much more!

Expedia Travel

Mention Tucson Arizona, and everyone thinks "hot." And it's true, it does get hot in Tucson. June's average daily temperatures in Tucson are 100.2°. It cools down the following month in the Old Pueblo when it only averages 99.6°. Hot? Yes, Tucson gets hot – at least by the measure of the mercury.

The truth is, however, Tucson does not really "feel" that hot. It's due to the lack of humidity, which is also why Tucsonans can get such efficient cooling from evaporative cooling systems. Evaporative cooling systems are much less costly to operate than air conditioning, and are quite effective in low humidity areas.

While the thermometer may read 100°, those out playing a round of golf in Tucson are most often not even visibly perspiring, much less feeling hot. The dry Sonora Desert winds slowly evaporate the perspiration, and cool the body down appreciably. Mother Nature's cooling system for humans is eminently effective.

Conversely, in a high humidity area, such as in Florida, even at a relatively low 85° temperature leaves those playing golf and tennis drenched in sweat and feeling more and more tired as minutes pass. Humidity, it seems, is to feeling heat what wind is to feeling cold. Get rid of the humidity, and it just doesn't feel that bad.

Of course, if you are visiting Tucson for vacation, or spending your summer months here while trying to improve your golf score, be sure not to be fooled by the lack of 'feeling' hot. Be sure to drink LOTS of water (or other suitable liquid), wear plenty of sunscreen (which has a great cooling effect instantly) and don't stay out too long in the direct sun.

So if you're thinking about Tucson Arizona for your vacation, or retirement, or relocating for a new job – don't let the heat dissuade you. When we say "Tucson, it's the hottest destination," we mean it figuratively…
