Chiricahua National Monument – A forest of pinnacles made from volcanic discharges reach for the sky in this 19 square mile park. The park is located on the western side of the Chiricahua Mountains. Though it is best known for presenting a clear geological record spanning nearly one billion years, it is so named for having been a favorite stronghold of Apache Indians being led by Cochise and Geronimo.
