United Health Care - An Overview

United Health offers a great number of care plans for U.S. citizens. This article will describe those plans, so that users can decide whether or not United Health Care is a company they want to do business with.

United Health Care: Medical
One of the nicest parts of United’s Health Care medical plan is that your physician of choice doesn’t have to contact United Health Care before providing services, if the services fall within your benefit plan. However, this is not true for all of the plans (the Medicare plan, for instance, requires that you only use physicians contracted by United Health Care).

United Health Care: Life
United Health Care offers a great number of options with their life insurance policies, such as:
• Basic Life Insurance: The bare minimum; United Health Care can determine the coverage based on a variety of factors.
• Accidental Death or Dismemberment: This covers the loss of life or limb.
• Dependent Life: This one is pretty straightforward; it is used to cover the family of a member.
Some features that United Health Care provides are: seat belt benefit (up to an additional $10,000 if the injured party is wearing a seatbelt), interest bearing accounts, and waiver of premiums.

United Health Care: Vision
United Health Care has partnered with Spectera to offer it’s members a full service vision plan, which includes prevention, exams and prescription coverage on most plans. Some benefits include contact lens coverage, discounted laser eye surgery, and a 24-hour access line.

United Health Care: Dental
United Health Care’s dental program is also quite comprehensive, with the focus on keeping costs low and quality of services high. Users of United Health Care’s system can access dentists not listed on the network, but get even more discounts if they do choose one affiliated with United Health Care. Reimbursement is speedy, states their website.

United Health Care: Disability
Disability insurance is exceptionally important to all working persons. Should you be injured in a way that prevents you from working, disability insurance can provide financial safety for you and your family while recovering. United Health Care offers their disability insurance through Unimerica.

United Health Care: Pharmacy
The pharmacy portion of United Health Care’s insurance plans is usually combined with the medical portion, but it can be separate as well, if required. There are several tiers of pharmacy service with this program, and United Health Care offers a customized approach for every customer, to determine their insurance coverage needs precisely. Customers can even access their pharmacy management tools online, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. Benefits include home delivery of prescriptions – a huge time saver, especially if you’re laid up.
